2yr old ISH chestnut colt, to make 16.2hh by the KWPN approved show jumping stallion, Arezzo VDL out of “ster” mare Sulana (Furore x Burggraaf). Impressive paces, very scopey and a VERY good temperament!
Here is what VDL have to say about him; “Arezzo’s sire line is unique with five generations of Grand Prix jumpers in a row: Chin Chin, Heartbreaker, Renville, Jasper and Akteur – all are well known sires of Grand Prix jumpers.
His dam line exemplifies performance. The most famous representatives are Dragonfly (Nicole Simpson) and Nacorde (Andre Thieme) – the latter winning the Hamburg Derby three times.
As a 3-yr. old, Arezzo was Champion of the KWPN Spring Stallion Test receiving a 9 for his reflexes, scope and talent as jumper.
With rider Jessica Kürten Arezzo impressed in the international arenas. They won the Grand Prix of Odense and a prestigious 1.50m class at Indoor Brabant. And there were the following high placings: 2nd 1.60m Paris, 2nd 1.50m Humlikon, 2nd 1.45m Paris, 2nd and 3rd in the GP KWPN Stallionshow, 4th 1.45m Oliva, 4th Queens Cup Mechelen, 5th GP Maastricht, 5th in the Sires of the World in Lanaken.
Jur Vrieling then took over the reins of Arezzo with great success. Jur and Arezzo won a 1.45m and a 1.50m class at the prestigious five-star show in Helsinki and took the victory in a 1.50m class at the famous show London Olympia. In addition, Arezzo and Jur gained several high placings, 2nd 1.50m Treffen, 2nd 1.50m Indoor Brabant, 2nd 1.50m Ommen, 3rd 1.50m Salzburg, 4th 1.45m Valkenswaard, 4th 1.45m Gothenburg, 5th GP Drachten, etc.”
Dam, Sulana (Furore x Burggraaf) herself was awarded the “ster” predicate in the Netherlands and has produced several successful progeny including full sister, Bulana who placed 8th at the World Championships for 7 year old event horses in Le Lion and is competing successfully at 3* level eventing. Other siblings include the mare Elana who qualified for the 4yr old show jumping championships in the Netherlands in 2013 and the went on to compete successfully at 1.30m. Flame, Sulana’s 2010 colt was selected for the 2nd round of the stallion grading in Holland where he put up a solid performance before being sold. Her sire and damsire need no introduction both being legends in their own right in breeding and in sport. This young man has the breeding, performance pedigree and the brain to be a top class sport horse in any sphere!
