Traditionally bred, by Laraghlease Western Desert out of a Bob Back (TB) mare.
Nelly is homebred, full history known.
She is currently jumping double clears at novice with an amateur rider, winning at this level last weekend. She has progressed from EI90 to novice in less than a year, as well as jumping double clear at 1.10. She has good paces, doesn’t get hot in the dressage, consistently scoring high 20s/low 30s, with more to come. Nelly is also a good showjumper, but cross country is where her strength really lies. She has never had a fault in this phase, 100% straight on a line. She also covers the ground easily and is quick away from her fences, making the time easily..
She has hunted and and successfully competed at riding club with other members of the family- truly anyones ride.
Nelly has been solely produced by her amateur rider, who is also at university, so it is testament to her fantastic temperament and trainability that she has been so easy to produce and has competed to this level with mum (by no means a professional) doing the majority of the work during the week. She is very generous and happy to jump off any stride, and will not take offence to the occasional miss by the rider.
Whilst also being safe and reliable, Nelly also has the talent to progress up the grades and be competitive, she has each step so far feel effortless. If she is not sold she will do a CIC* this autumn, and likely upgrade to intermediate next season. Essentially she is everything a good Irish horse should be.
She is not mareish in any way and is easy to handle in every respect. No vices, good to box, shoe, clip etc, has never been lame. We live on a busy farm so she is not phased by traffic and heavy machinery.

Nelly is only very sadly for sale as her rider doesn’t have the time to compete her any further as she will be starting her career this year, and we feel she deserves a competitive 5* home as we would love to see her fulfil her potential.
